Samsung has officially launched the One UI 9 beta program for Galaxy S26 series users, giving early adopters a first look at the company's next generation software experience. Built on Android 17, the new update focuses on creativity, personalization, accessibility, and device security while laying the foundation for more advanced AI powered features expected later this year.
The One UI 9 beta program is beginning this week in selected markets, allowing eligible Galaxy S26 owners to test the latest software before its wider public release.
One UI 9 Brings More Creative and Personalized Features
One UI 9 beta introduces several upgrades designed to make everyday smartphone use more personal and enjoyable. Samsung Notes receives new creative tools that help users customize their notes with decorative tape elements and additional pen line styles. These additions make note taking more expressive while helping users organize content in a visually appealing way.
Samsung is also improving personalization inside the Contacts app. Users can now access Creative Studio directly from Contacts to design custom profile cards without switching between different applications. This streamlined approach makes it easier to create unique contact profiles while saving time.
Another major change comes to the Quick Panel. Samsung has redesigned the experience to offer greater flexibility. Users can independently adjust the brightness controls, sound settings, and media player layout. More sizing options are also available, allowing people to customize the interface according to their preferences and usage habits.
Accessibility Improvements Aim to Help More Users
Accessibility remains a key focus in One UI 9. Samsung has introduced an adjustable Mouse Key speed option, giving users smoother and more precise cursor control. This enhancement can be particularly useful for people who rely on alternative navigation methods.
The company has also simplified accessibility tools by combining TalkBack features previously offered separately by Samsung and Google. This creates a more unified experience and reduces complexity for users who depend on screen reading functions.
A new feature called Text Spotlight has also been added. It displays selected text in a larger or clearer floating window, making reading easier for people who may struggle with small text or visual clarity.
Enhanced Security Protection Against High Risk Apps
Security receives a significant upgrade in One UI 9. Samsung says the software can now provide stronger protection when potentially risky applications are detected on a device.
If a newly identified high risk app is found, users may receive warning notifications. The system can also block installation or execution of such apps and recommend removing them through updated security policies. According to Samsung, these protections are part of ongoing security policy updates that help maintain device safety by identifying apps considered potentially dangerous based on the company's internal assessments.
While these measures add another layer of protection, Samsung notes that security policy updates may change over time as new threats emerge.

Samsung has confirmed that the complete One UI 9 experience will debut later this year alongside upcoming Galaxy flagship devices. The company also plans to introduce advanced AI capabilities that aim to make mobile interactions more natural, intelligent, and effortless.
Some features may vary depending on region, device model, carrier support, language, or software version. Certain Creative Studio functions require installation of the app, a Samsung Account login, and an active internet connection. Samsung also notes that AI generated content may not always be perfectly accurate and some sharing features may be limited to Galaxy devices.
With a strong focus on customization, accessibility, security, and future AI integration, One UI 9 represents Samsung's latest step toward creating a smarter and more user friendly mobile experience for Galaxy users worldwide.
