Ferrari has officially entered the electric vehicle segment with the launch of the Ferrari Luce, a new high-performance EV that introduces a different direction for the Italian automaker. Revealed in Rome during a global launch event, the Luce combines Ferrari’s traditional performance-focused engineering with modern electric technology and a redesigned luxury cabin.
The Ferrari Luce is not positioned as a replacement for Ferrari’s V8 or V12 sports cars. Instead, it arrives as a separate model aimed at buyers looking for a luxury grand tourer with electric power, daily usability, and advanced technology.

Ferrari Luce Exterior Design Takes a New Direction
The Ferrari Luce does not follow the low-slung shape seen on classic Ferrari supercars. Instead, the company has created a body style that combines elements of a sports sedan, shooting brake, and crossover.
The front design features slim LED lighting, sculpted air channels, and a smooth aerodynamic profile. Ferrari says the Luce was developed with a strong focus on airflow efficiency, helping the EV achieve one of the lowest drag coefficients in the brand’s history.
One of the standout exterior details is the center-opening door setup, which improves cabin access while giving the car a cleaner side profile. Flush door handles, integrated spoilers, and large aerodynamic wheels further support the futuristic styling direction.
Ferrari is expected to offer multiple exterior paint options through its Tailor Made customization program. Early launch models have been shown in silver, deep blue, metallic red, matte grey, and pearl white finishes.
Ferrari Luce Interior Focuses on Driver Comfort and Physical Controls
Inside the cabin, Ferrari has moved away from the fully touch-based layouts common in modern EVs. The Luce includes physical buttons, rotary switches, and metal controls alongside digital displays.
The dashboard uses OLED screens for vehicle information and infotainment functions, while the steering wheel retains tactile buttons for easier control during driving. Rear passengers also receive a dedicated display for climate and entertainment settings.
Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, the design studio founded by former Apple designer Jony Ive, to create the cabin design and user interface. The company says the goal was to balance modern technology with traditional mechanical interaction.
The Luce is also Ferrari’s first five-seater production model. The rear bench can comfortably accommodate three passengers, while the large cargo area adds more practicality than previous Ferrari vehicles.
Premium leather, aluminum trim, glass accents, and matte steel surfaces are used throughout the interior to maintain a luxury feel.
Electric Powertrain and Performance Details
The Ferrari Luce uses a quad-motor all-wheel-drive system developed entirely in-house by Ferrari engineers. Combined power output is reported at more than 1,000 horsepower.
Ferrari claims the Luce can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in around 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 190 mph. Despite being heavier than Ferrari’s traditional sports cars because of the battery pack, the Luce is still designed to deliver quick handling and strong cornering performance.
The EV rides on an 800V to 880V architecture, supporting faster charging and improved power delivery. Ferrari has also included advanced torque vectoring on both axles to improve stability and traction during high-speed driving.
Battery Range, Charging, and Mileage
The Ferrari Luce is equipped with a 122 kWh battery pack. Ferrari estimates a driving range of around 500 kilometers under European testing standards, which translates to roughly 280 to 330 miles depending on driving conditions and final U.S. EPA certification.
The battery system supports high-speed DC charging, allowing quicker charging sessions compared to older EV platforms. Ferrari has not yet confirmed exact charging times for the U.S. market.
To improve efficiency, the front electric motors can disconnect during highway cruising, helping extend overall driving range.

Braking, Safety, and Driving Technology
Ferrari has equipped the Luce with several advanced driving systems to maintain performance and safety.

At launch, Ferrari has only revealed the standard body version of the Luce. However, reports suggest Ferrari may later introduce additional variants, including a more performance-focused trim and possibly an open-roof convertible model if market demand remains strong.
