Beyond the price tag, the real excitement lies in the hardware. The Z Fold 8 is ditching the 7.6-inch inner screen of the past and upgrading to a massive 8.0-inch main display. The outside gets a bump too, featuring a 6.5-inch FlexWindow cover display. Both screens will support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but the inner display is getting a major brightness boost, peaking at an incredible 2,600 nits to match the Galaxy S series flagships.
Under the hood, the phone is a powerhouse. It will be driven by the highly anticipated Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. To keep these large screens running, Samsung is including a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging.
The camera system is also seeing a massive leap forward. Photography fans can look forward to a stunning 200MP main sensor, backed by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

While the standard model is impressive, Samsung has a surprise in store for power users. Leaks strongly indicate that the company is splitting the lineup into two tiers, introducing a secondary Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (which may also be branded as the "Ultra").
This premium model will feature a completely different aspect ratio, offering a wider inner screen that feels more like a traditional tablet.
To accommodate this new shape, Samsung is slightly altering the camera array. It will swap the standard triple-camera setup for a dual 50MP rear system, while adding an extra under-display camera on the front for video calls. If you want this specific model, you will be looking for a striking Dark Green colorway, which is currently the only confirmed color for the Wide edition.
