Sony has officially confirmed the PS Plus May 2026 lineup! From EA Sports FC 26 to the intense action of Nine Sols, here is everything you need to know about this month's free titles.

The PS Plus Essential Monthly Games for May 2026

As we move into May, Sony is offering a diverse selection of titles that cater to sports fans, action enthusiasts, and those who love a beautifully crafted indie challenge. Starting Tuesday, May 5, all PlayStation Plus members can add three distinct games to their permanent library.

The headliner this month is undoubtedly EA Sports FC 26. As the definitive football experience on console, this version introduces refined tactical controls and updated rosters. For PS Plus subscribers, there’s an extra "PlayStation Plus Icons Pack" included, giving your Ultimate Team a massive head start with legendary players.

Soulslike Action and "Taopunk" Adventures

If sports aren't your primary focus, May brings two high-octane alternatives:

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5): This dark, atmospheric action-RPG takes you to the late Ming Dynasty. It is a challenging "Soulslike" where you’ll face mutated creatures and intricate boss battles. The visuals are stunning, making it a must-play for fans of games like Elden Ring or Black Myth: Wukong.

Nine Sols (PS5, PS4): Often described as "Taopunk," this game blends Far Eastern mythology with a sci-fi setting. It features a unique, deflection-based combat system inspired by Sekiro. The hand-drawn art style makes every frame look like a painting, but don't let the beauty fool you—the combat is lightning-fast and demanding.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Perks

While the "Essential" games get the spotlight early, those on the Extra and Premium tiers have even more to look forward to later in the month.

The biggest news for retro fans is the arrival of Time Crisis in the Classics Catalog. This legendary light-gun shooter has been optimized for modern controllers, featuring gyro-aiming support on the DualSense. It is a nostalgic trip that feels surprisingly fresh with modern hardware. Expect the full list of mid-month additions for the Game Catalog to be revealed on May 13.

Important Dates: When to Claim and What’s Leaving

To make sure you don't miss out, keep these dates marked on your calendar:

May 4: This is your last day to claim the April games (Lords of the Fallen and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered). Once they are gone, you can no longer add them for free.

May 5: The new May lineup becomes available for download.

May 19: New titles join the Extra/Premium Game Catalog, and several older titles (including some Final Fantasy games) are scheduled to leave the service.

Pro Tip: Even if you aren't ready to play these games today, always "Add to Library" from the PlayStation Store. As long as you have an active subscription, they will remain yours to play whenever you're ready.
