RuneScape: Dragonwilds has officially reached its 1.0 full release. Jagex ended the game's Steam Early Access period on September 15, 2026, making the game available on PC and consoles.
Full Release Is Now Live
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is no longer an Early Access game. The 1.0 launch concludes the initial development phase and brings the game to its planned PC and console release.
The game is built around survival, crafting, exploration, combat and RuneScape-inspired progression rather than the traditional MMO format.
Runescape Dragonwilds Available Platforms
The 1.0 version is available for:
- PC
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch 2
Jagex's launch announcement confirms this is also the first RuneScape game to arrive on consoles.
Survival RPG Gameplay
Dragonwilds takes players into Ashenfall, a dangerous fantasy world where survival and exploration are central to progression.
Players can gather resources, construct bases, craft equipment, develop skills and fight dangerous creatures while exploring the world.
The game supports 1 to 4 players, making it playable both solo and cooperatively.
Dragons and Major Boss Content
Dragons are a major part of the game's identity. The 1.0 content expands the story and introduces additional high-level encounters, including the conclusion of Kuldra's Saga and Dragon Queen-related boss content.
The final Early Access update, Umbral Sands, previously added a major new region, environmental systems, a new mount type and the Fuzan boss encounter.
Magic and Skills
RuneScape: Dragonwilds combines traditional survival mechanics with RuneScape-style progression.
The game includes skills and magical abilities, while previous updates significantly expanded systems such as Agility. Update 0.12.1 added new Agility courses, leaderboards, double-jump improvements, passive XP while running and a breakfall mechanic.
Crossplay and Multiplayer
The console launch is particularly important because Dragonwilds expands beyond PC while supporting multiplayer features. Jagex has positioned the game as a cooperative survival adventure for groups of up to four players.
Xbox Game Pass
Xbox players also have a significant launch option. RuneScape: Dragonwilds is available day one through Xbox Game Pass, following Microsoft's September 2026 Game Pass announcement.
PlayStation Plus
For PlayStation players, Dragonwilds is included in the September 2026 PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Sony confirmed it as part of the month's Game Catalog lineup.
Latest Major Update Before 1.0
The last major Early Access expansion was Umbral Sands, released on June 23, 2026. Jagex described it as the final major Steam Early Access update before the 1.0 launch.
The update added a new desert-style region, environmental features, mounts and additional combat content, helping prepare the game for its full release.
