The Rivian R2 has become one of the most talked-about electric SUVs in the United States. Designed as a smaller and more affordable alternative to the larger R1S, the Rivian R2 combines everyday practicality with the adventure-focused identity that Rivian is known for. The Rivian R2 is available in three trims. The Performance model is the first to reach customers, followed by the Premium trim later in 2026. The Standard version is expected in 2027.


Current U.S. pricing includes:

A lower-priced version close to $45,000 is planned for a later release.

The suspension is tuned to deliver stable road manners while still offering capability on light off-road trails, making the Rivian R2 suitable for a wide range of driving conditions. 


Braking, Safety and Driver Assistance


The Rivian R2 includes four-wheel disc brakes with advanced electronic stability systems. Safety features include multiple airbags, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring.


Higher trims can also be equipped with Rivian's Autonomy+ driver assistance package, offering additional hands-on highway driving support and regular over-the-air software updates. 


Interior Design and Core Technology

Mileage, Colours and Final Verdict


Since the Rivian R2 is fully electric, it produces zero tailpipe emissions. Depending on the model, the estimated driving range reaches up to 345 miles on a full charge, while the Performance version offers around 330 miles.
