Motorola Has Increased the Storage in the Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola has quietly turned the Edge 70 Fusion into a far more attractive mid-range powerhouse by introducing a new 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant in India. This move directly targets heavy users who need serious onboard space for gaming, 4K video, and long-term app usage while keeping performance smooth and reliable.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion: New High-Storage Variant

Motorola originally launched the Edge 70 Fusion with storage options topping out at 256GB, paired with either 8GB or 12GB RAM.

Now, the brand has added a 512GB storage model with 12GB RAM, effectively doubling the maximum capacity and positioning the phone as a premium mid-range choice for Indian buyers.

This change comes without altering the core design or performance profile, which helps the new variant slot seamlessly into the existing lineup.

Current Storage Configurations (India 2026)

As of late June 2026, these are the active configurations being reported for the Edge 70 Fusion in India:

  • 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM (UFS 3.1).
  • 256 GB storage, 8 GB RAM (UFS 3.1).
  • 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM (UFS 3.1).
  • 512 GB storage, 12 GB RAM (UFS 3.1) – newly introduced, positioned as the top variant.

Storage, RAM And Performance Focus

The Edge 70 Fusion continues to use fast UFS 3.1 storage in current batches, which means quicker app launches, faster game loading, and more responsive multitasking compared to older UFS standards.

With 12GB physical RAM backed by generous internal storage, the device also supports virtual RAM expansion, allowing part of the storage to act as additional memory for smoother multitasking under heavy workloads.

However, there is no microSD slot, so users must choose their storage variant carefully, with the 512GB model clearly aimed at power users.

Display, Battery And Everyday Experience

While storage has increased, Motorola has kept the rest of the hardware intact, which is good news for anyone eyeing the new top variant. The Edge 70 Fusion still features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, delivering fluid animations and crisp visuals for gaming and streaming.

Powering the device is a large 7,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging, designed to handle long sessions of gaming, social media, and video without frequent recharging. Together, the display and battery make the higher-storage model more appealing for users who spend most of their day on their phone.

Camera, Software And Durability

Motorola has not changed the camera hardware for the new variant. The Edge 70 Fusion continues with a 50MP Sony LYTIA main sensor that targets sharp photos and good low-light performance, paired with a 32MP front camera for high-quality selfies and video calls.

On the software side, the phone runs an Android 16-based build and is expected to receive up to three major OS updates, keeping it relevant for several years.

For durability, the handset offers IP68 and IP69 ratings along with MIL-STD-810H compliance, making it resistant to dust, water, and everyday drops.

What This Means For Indian Buyers?

With the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, Motorola has repositioned the Edge 70 Fusion as a serious contender in the premium mid-range segment in India. The combination of high-speed UFS 3.1 storage, a huge battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and rugged durability now sits alongside flagship-level storage capacity, which is rare at this price point.

For users who install large games, shoot a lot of high-resolution video, or prefer offline media instead of cloud storage, the new variant makes the Edge 70 Fusion significantly more future-proof and ready for long-term use.
