Bajaj launches WEGO electric three-wheelers in India with up to 296Km range, targeting passenger and cargo segments with practical features and lower running costs.
India’s shift toward electric mobility is picking up pace, and Bajaj Auto has taken a significant step with the launch of its WEGO electric three-wheeler range. Designed for both passenger and cargo applications, this new lineup offers a claimed driving range between 149Km and 296Km on a single charge.
With rising fuel costs, this launch could offer a practical and cost-effective alternative for auto drivers and logistics operators across the country.
Wide Portfolio Covering Multiple Use Cases
Bajaj states that the WEGO range is one of the most comprehensive electric three-wheeler portfolios in India. It includes multiple variants tailored for different needs:
- Passenger Segment: 50, 70, and 90 series.
- Cargo Segment: C9009 and C9012 models.
The pricing starts at around ₹3.11 lakh and goes up to ₹3.87 lakh, depending on the variant. The range varies across models, from 149Km to a maximum of 296Km, making it suitable for both short city commutes and longer urban operations.

Focus on Practical Features and Smart Technology
Beyond range, the WEGO lineup is equipped with features aimed at improving everyday usability and driving comfort:
- Two-speed automatic transmission.
- Regenerative braking.
- Hill-hold assist.
- Climb mode.
Additionally, it includes Bluetooth connectivity and a digital LCD display for a more connected experience. Passenger variants offer improved legroom and seating comfort, while cargo versions are built to handle heavier loads efficiently.
Increased Competition in the EV Segment
The launch of WEGO is expected to intensify competition in the electric three-wheeler market. Until now, the segment has largely been dominated by smaller and mid-level manufacturers. Bajaj’s entry brings stronger brand trust and an established service network.
Thanks to lower running costs and higher efficiency, this range could appeal to:
- Auto rickshaw drivers.
- E-commerce delivery services.
- Small logistics businesses.
A Step Forward for EV Adoption in India
In the long run, products like WEGO can help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India, particularly in cities where last-mile connectivity and delivery demand are growing rapidly.
Bajaj’s move clearly indicates that electric mobility in the commercial vehicle segment is set to expand at a much faster pace in the coming years.
